DAY 1: Symposium (open to all participants) July 1st
1. The concept of Periodontically accelerated Orthodontic tooth movement
2. Conventional corticotomy, advantages and limitations
3. The Biology behind the phenomenon
4. The animal studies and their immediate clinical implications
5. The new technique (Piezocision)
6. Indications and contraindications, Treatment planning of cases, case selection
The phases of Orthodontic treatment associated with Piezocision and the difference with conventional orthodontics
7. Step by step description of the Piezocision Technique
8. Correction of soft and hard tissue deficiencies while inducing tooth movement
9. Bone grafting , soft tissue grafting
Temporary Anchorage Devices with and without accelerated tooth movement.
10. Conclusions and future Clinical Applications
DAY 2: Hands-on (open to selected participants only) July 2nd
8.00 – 12.00 Group 1
5 specialists form (perio + ortho) from Estonia
5 specialists form (perio + ortho) from Lithuania
Maximum 10 participants, hands-on on the pig jaw model, piezosurgery, incisions, tunneling, bone grafting, sutures.
13.00 – 17.00 Group 2 10 specialists from Latvia.
Maximum 10 participants, hands-on on the pig jaw model, piezosurgery, incisions, tunneling, bone grafting, sutures. The sponsor will provide for 3 piezosurgery machines to be used during the practical hands-on portion of the course.
