Day I:

Critical Soft Tissue Grafting Techniques

Periodontal Soft Tissue Enhancement in Esthetic & Implant Dentistry

Dental esthetics is dependent on specifically defined relationships between the soft

tissue, the teeth or implants, and the underlying osseous scaffold. A critical soft tissue

dimension is required for long-term predictable support of the gingival margin, crestal

bone and restorative esthetics.

Part and parcel of thorough dental evaluation today is to determine the gingival phenotype

of the individual. Thickness of the gingival zone of attached tissue plays an

important role in maintaining crestal bone, optimizing tissue color and developing the

long-term health and esthetics in dental treatment of any kind. The exact determination

of the location of the underlying bone through bone sounding will be discussed as it

acts as a prognostic indicator of future vertical soft tissue levels.

Soft tissue grafting techniques, new regenerative materials and bioactivators (PRGF, PRF

fibrin) will be discussed. The expanding role of allograft materials (Alloderm, Dermis,

Pericardium, Perioderm) and when to utilize them will be suggested. The ability of

these combined protocols to alter the soft tissue profile around natural teeth, implants,

and edentulous ridges will be reviewed as to its critical role in “Complete Dental

Esthetics and Health.”

This hands-on course will highlight the three most utilized soft tissue procedures in

clinical practice, the socket graft, ridge augmentation and root coverage procedures.

It will teach in detail and simplify the process of site evaluation, critical anatomy, flap

design, harvest techniques and suturing. The Tunneling and Pouch Techniques will be

specifically highlighted.

Day II:

Critical Bone Grafting Techniques; A Hands-On Course

The Role of Bone Enhancement in Esthetic & Implant Dentistry

The key to successful implant dentistry is the ability of the clinician to provide adequate

volume and quality of bone to the recipient site. This requires a thorough and precise

diagnostic evaluation utilizing bone sounding, PA films and CBCT 3D software when

appropriate.

Once the volume of the deficiency has been properly registered the appropriate bone

grafting technique can then be selected. The desire is to utilize the least invasive and

most conservative techniques needed to get the required results.

GBR, Onlay Vertical Block Grafting, New Innovative Membranes, Ridge Splitting and

Sinus Lift access techniques will be featured.

The utilization and importance of bioactive modifiers such as PRGF, PRF and autologous fibrin membranes will be discussed as well.

The regenerative products available today for Bone Augmentation including, Puros allograft particulate bone, various membranes including the new CurV, bone tacks, fixation screws, ridge splitting and neurosurgical techniques to easily access the Sinus

will be clarified as to their effectiveness in each procedure.

This hands-on course will highlight the 4 most utilized bone graft procedures in clinical

practice which include GBR, Vertical Augmentation with CurV membranes, Autogenous

Block Grafting Harvest and Fixation, Ridge Splitting and Crestal and Lateral Sinus Lift.

It will teach in detail and simplify the process of site evaluation, critical anatomy, flap

design, harvest techniques, suturing and the required armamentarium to perform these

techniques.

All necessary materials will be made available to each attendee;

Bone models, surgical instruments, grafting materials and fixation screws.

Educational Objectives

1. To learn basic Surgical Anatomy and Incision Techniques in Hard Tissue Surgery.

2. To apply 5 commonly used bone grafting techniques in clinical practice.

3. To manage the “deficient” site through various and Innovative augmentation techniques.

Agenda

1. GBR Techniques and Technologies

2. Autogeneous and/or Allograft Onlay Bone Blocks

3. Utilization and Fixation of the New CurV Collagen Membranes

4. Ridge Splitting and Expansion Techniques

5. Sinus Lift Lateral and Crestal Approaches
